Constructed of a silvered alloy, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle overlaid by a mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of FR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER), unmarked, measuring 24. 33 mm in diameter, weighing 9. 0 grams (inclusive of ribbon) demonstrating minor loss of finish
