France, July Monarchy. A Légion D'honneur, Reduced Size, C.1835 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac “Tirpitz”(Ordre de la Lgion d'Honneur). Instituted in 1802. (1830 1848). In silver with blue, red, white and green enamels, both centrepieces in Gold, hallmarked with a rabbit's head on the tip of the ribbon on the reverse, measuring 22. 5 mm (w) x 34. 2 mm (h) inclusive of its crown and laterally pierced ball suspension, chipping and repair evident in the white enamels on the arms on both sides, original ribbon, fine.
