Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A War Medal, Galipoli Star, By B.b. & Co. Newly Listed maroon wool forming the base(Harp Madalyasi). Instituted in 1915. In nickel plated brass with red enamels, German made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, maker marked "B. B. & Co." on the reverse, measuring 57 mm (w) x 54. 5 mm (h), horizontal pinback, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan
