This Datejust is an example of a Rolex big bubbleback watch, known by their Italian nickame Ovettone (big egg) due to the exceptional depth of case. They are seriously cool on the wrist due to the extra height. This case shape was needed because of the automatic winding rotor in these 1950s watches. This watch dates to the mid 1950s and the
