Constructed of an aluminum alloy, the obverse consisting of a Tiwaz rune, overlaid by a central mobile swastika, in turn surrounded by a circular ring bearing an inscription of FR LEISTUNGEN IN DER H. J. (FOR MERIT IN THE H. J.), the reverse with a vertical pinback, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code M1 35 for Wchtler & Lange, Mittweida, also stamped with a B indicating a replacement piece,
