Tigers Eye Obelisk Ruby Kyanite chrysocollaTiger's Eye, a semi precious gemstone, is formed through a natural process of pseudomorphism. This process is where quartz replaces crocidolite fibers (blue asbestos). Crocidolite is altered to iron oxides and then replaced by silica, creating a unique chatoyant effect (a silky, moving light effect). These pieces are polished into an obelisk shape.
