Georgian Teal Paste Rivière Necklace chain 52ct natural corundumDATE: Georgian, c. 1830 Exceptional Georgian rivire necklace set with 22 teal paste gemstones in "pie crust" mounts. The stones are graduated and display the most dreamy shade of blue oval faceted in open back settings. Dating from the late Georgian period, circa 1830, a time when paste gemstones could command as much or more than the natural stones they simulated. George Strass is generally credited with perfecting the technique in the 1720s, lead
