A large circular medal constructed of silvered bronze; the obverse depicting the Austrian coat of arms, surrounded by the coat of arms of all of Austrias nine provinces; the reverse inscribed Fr Verdienste um die Republik sterreich (For merit for the Republic of Austria); on a triple loop suspension from its period original tri fold ribbon; measuring 45. 02 mm in diameter; weighing 32. 6 grams; in overall
