1929 Photogravure Angkor Cambodia Ta Phrom Devata Statue Sculpture Hinduism XAG1 This is an original 1922This is an original 1929 photogravure of a devata sculpture in the temple of Ta Phrom in Angkor, Cambodia (Kampuchea). "Devata" means "deity," and holds the same function as guardian angels in Christianity. Ta Phrom was built in the 12th century. Silk cotton trees grow out of the ruins and create a jungle like atmosphere. The temple was partially used during the filming of "Tomb Raider" in 2001.
