"Devata" means "deity," and holds the same function as guardian angels in Christianity. Ta Phrom was built in the 12th century. Silk cotton trees grow out of the ruins and create a jungle like atmosphere. The temple was partially used during the filming of "Tomb Raider" in 2001.
