Polynesië, de Hemel Size:36-40 Versterkte hiel en teen: ExtraHenri Matisse created 'Polynesia, the Sky' in 1946 as a paper cut out, inspired by his transformative journey to Tahiti in 1930. With white cut out paper against a serene blue background, he shows birds floating through a tropical sky a visual ode to paradise. This masterpiece from Matisse's revolutionary cut out period captures the essence of freedom and infinity. The floating forms and heavenly colours bring a sense of carefree tropical tranquillity
