Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field grey wool backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 73 mm (w) x 62. 02 mm (h), with minor loss of finish evident to the shield, in overall
