A Rare 1939 Iron Cross I Class, Cloth Version, With Dietrich Maerz Certification consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac (Vaterländischer Verdienstorden)(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse, Stoffausfhrung). Reinstituted 1 September 1939. (1939 1945 issue). Constructed of black wool, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse featuring machine embroidered silver aluminum wire arms border on the interior with flat wire simulating the pebbling of a metal cross, with a central machine embroidered black mobile swastika, the six oclock arm with a machine embroidered date of 1939, the reverse featuring a field grey
