This table cooler with a modernist design dates from the mid 20th century. It was initially used to keep caviar cool at dinner parties. It was manufactured by the firm Haesco Schmidt & Co in the former East Germany, then under Russian occupation, to allow the occupants to keep the famous Beluga caviar cool.
