Arts reflecting the Weill family's penchantThe Murdered Poet is the first text that Pierre Alechinsky illustrated, with these eighteen linocuts, in 1948, at the end of his training at the cole de la Cambre, but the book was not published at the time. This autobiographical tale, first published in 1916 but written before the war, tells the story of the poet Croniamantal, initially adored by all, then lynched during a general movement of hatred against poetry and poets.
