It is also found in food: meat, eggs, fish, dairy products, certain fruits and vegetables and in legumes This amino acid is necessary for the synthesis of catecholamines, namely adrenaline, noradrenaline and L DOPA (dopamine precursor) (see reference 1). It is also a strictly essential element for the synthesis of thyroid hormones.
